Thank you for sharing this pattern.
Joni, your fundraising idea is terrific. I donate all my hats to a transitional housing shelter, but I also love your idea & may pursue setting up a similar arrangement to raise cash for the shelter. Thanks for the inspiration!

Marvie,
What a great hat and scarf pattern!
I work for a non-profit group called Siuslaw Outreach Services in Oregon. We offer assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and poverty. We give vouchers for the sorts of things all people should have, like food, shelter, medication, showers, etc.. Recently I have begun a group- called I'll Cover You- it is a hats for charity sort of thing, where a group of ladies and men, young girls and boys if we can find them- get together and on their own crochet and knit hats. We then offer them at craft sales for donation only-With each hat that a person gives a donation for- they get a little card, thanking them for their gift, which helped to keep someone's utilities on in the dead of winter, or paid for their prescriptions or propane so they could cook, etc. We are always looking for patterns but take care in not finding patterns for charity use or ones we can get permission for their use for that purpose. Would you consider allowing us to use your pattern? 100% of the earned goes to direct services, not even to the cost of the yarn, which is donated by the people doing the work.
Thanks for your time in considering our request. Great patterns:)

Am I being dense? Reading row 13 of hat pattern I'm supposed to repeat *dc in next 2 st, ch 2, sk 2, dc in next 2 st*, which leaves me with four dc followed by a chain 2 space all around till I get to the end of the round and it's all messed up. Am I doing something wrong or is that second "dc in next 2 st" not supposed to be there?

What if you just want to do one single color? Do the instructions still work out the same?

Is there a row missing for the scarf pattern? After row 2 it says to repeat rows 2 and 3, but there is no row 3.

Thank you.
